Learn about Co-op Boarding!

Bitter Creek is the only horse boarding facility in the Grand Junction Valley that offers a co-op system. The system is designed to help all horse owners from college students, retirees to families. The team at Bitter Creek understands everyone has priorities in their life and that everyone is busy. That is why we have developed a system that provides the best quality of care along with cheaper prices.

Bitter Creek is one of the nicest facilities in the Western Slope area and we offer only the finest of care, along with serving each and every horse owner with integrity and respect. We have two lighted arenas for evening riding, a standard sized round pen, hot walker, free trailer parking and several living arrangements for horses. The facility also has an on-site manager and two equine veterinarians practicing on-site.

Co-op boarding is NOT the same as partial board. Bitter Creek's co-op boarding system works by first having the boarder choosing where on the property they want their horse to live, Bitter Creek has several great options that are equipped with shade, shelter and wind breaks. For a boarder's first month of board with Bitter Creek they will be a full care and then get on the schedule for one feeding and cleaning shift out of every 5 to 8 days for the chores for all the horses being housed at Bitter Creek. One of the great benefits is that we have the chores streamlined down to make every minute of your valuable time count.

Horses at Bitter Creek will receive twice daily feeding of excellent quality of grass or alfalfa hay, daily cleaning of stalls and pens and on-site veterinary services with emergency coverage. Other optional services are offered for additional fees such as blanketing, exercise, arena turnout and any other special requests from boarders.

In return of an afternoon's work of labor boarders receive a GREAT deal on board for their horse and have access to a phenomenal facility with excellent lighted arenas and care. All co-op members will receive training on how to properly feed and care for each horse on the facility. All shifts are checked for completion by the Bitter Creek management staff, so there is no worry about anyone forgetting to feed and care for your horse.

Full care options are also available and other co-op members are always looking to pick up extra shifts in case a member has something come up in their busy schedule.
